From paper boats to secret fights,

From stolen sweets to sleepless nights,

We’ve walked together, hand in hand,

In our own little childhood land.

We’ve argued over toys and turns,

We’ve teased each other till it burns,

But after every silly spat,

We’d share our heart - and that was that.

Your “ruthna” was my biggest fear,

Your “manana” would bring me cheer,

Through every storm, through every tide,

You’ve been my strength, my constant guide.

Our bond is more than words can say,

It’s pious, pure, in every way,

It’s written deep within our hearts,

A sacred tie no world departs.

May life for you be bright and kind,

With peace and joy for heart and mind,

May health and laughter light your ways,

And love surrounds you, nights and days,

On this Rakhi, my prayer’s true -

May I always be the shield for you.
